“The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls..”

J. Ipema

Unlike a lot of artists my art exploration did not start until late in life. I craved to depict the world around me in some way, but did not know where to begin. My desire to learn more about the world of art led me to take a few drawing and painting classes at a local college. I emerged knowing I wanted to learn to express myself and the world around me with visual art. Not until I retired did I delve into different types of mediums to try and find my niche. As it turns out I do not have one. I enjoy working with acrylic, watercolor, oils, colored pencil, graphite and encaustic. I may have commitment issues.

I am a member of the Temecula Valley Art League and sit on the board of directors. I was fortunate enough to have two of my paintings displayed on the centerfold of the brochure!

It's a COSMOS theme this month at the gallery. So many beautiful  paintings to see. I have two pieces in the show; "The Wonder of it All" alcohol ink on cradled board, and "In a Galaxy..." acrylic on canvas..
